From the Deep Mountains of Guizhou to the Madness of the Crypto World: How Did a Rural Cowherd with Only an Elementary School Diploma Write a Crypto Glory in Ten Years, Only to Fall Back to the Bottom in Two Years?#
1. Grassroots Counterattack:#
I was born in the mid-1990s in the deep mountains of northern Guizhou, in a poor family, often hungry and poorly clothed. As a left-behind child, I dropped out of school after finishing elementary school and started working at the age of 13. I began as a child laborer in Jinhua, Zhejiang, later becoming a small-time thug in the county town, known as "Little Guizhou," frequently visiting the police station, flirting with the convenience store owner’s wife, living a muddled life, just getting by. By chance, I followed a local thug, and with the help of his parents, I was admitted to the Music Department of Zhejiang Art College, but due to my bad habits and fighting, I was eventually expelled. After that, I wandered across the country, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen, sleeping on overpasses, living in caves, and barely surviving on leftover food from roadside stalls and the charity of a prostitute.
2. The Storm in the Crypto World:#
In 2013, I took over a bar on a famous garbage street in Hangzhou and met a customer who became my benefactor, introducing me to the crypto world. I bought my first Bitcoin on the BTCC exchange. In 2014, I sold the bar and became a full-time investor and manager of a mining operation; my iconic profile picture was taken at that time, carrying a bag of mining machine parts. In 2016, I created a mining machine trading group, and from 2017 to 2018, I reached the peak of my life, leveraging my youthful appearance (I did look good at the time) and daring personality to secure a stable supply from a woman in her thirties, achieving my first small goal in life. Later, I switched to a computing power platform and made tens of millions through "betting" agreements. My trading in cryptocurrencies also soared, operating with dot, uni, Pangu, okex Happy Beans, Luna, and other coins, with each operation widely circulated, earning me a fortune! My Weibo account was banned multiple times, but each time I managed to accumulate tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand followers.
3. Fall and Reflection: From Billions to Tens of Millions in Debt#
After switching to Twitter, I spent thousands of Ethereum, buying 40 Bored Ape NFTs at around 100 ETH. Later, I heavily invested in inscription coins, especially Quark coins, as well as Dogecoin, Trump coins, and other on-chain meme coins, only to be continuously cut off. After Trump took office, I went long on Dogecoin at around $0.3, losing over ten million coins; I bought over 200 altcoins on Binance, investing between $5,000 to several hundred thousand dollars in each. The disputes between Musk and Trump, along with the Iran-Israel conflict, led to successive liquidations, costing me two to three million dollars. Now, I am left with some Bitcoin and 18 million in bank debt (with a repayment of 3 million scheduled for tomorrow). It took only two years to go from a billion fortune to a debt of 15 million.
4. Awaiting Rebirth:#
Has my crypto career ended? No, it’s just a "temporary break." As a first-generation "dog-skin plaster" in China's crypto circle, I have experienced both glory and downfall. My biggest mistake? Not exiting the circle in time after the "café incident." Now, I still have my foundation, resources, and experience, just waiting for the opportunity to go long after the market drops.
In over thirty years of life, with more than a decade of ups and downs in the crypto world, intertwined with bitterness and madness. I, Xia Xueyi, a rural cowherd with only an elementary school education, started from the dust but have reached today through Bitcoin. Even if I lose everything, the remnants are still beyond what I once dared to imagine; what more could I want? What right do I have to complain about fate? I am already the luckiest person in the world, a status that is hard to replicate. Therefore, I always say that I am the person who has achieved the greatest success in China through Bitcoin, without exception! So I have always maintained a calm mindset; although the ups and downs are crazy, I accept everything that happens. Contentment brings happiness; my two children are named Zhihao and Lezhi. This is my story, far from over.
